Goldstar Software's Database Monitoring Service (GSDMS)
Goldstar Software is pleased to announce our latest service offering -- the Goldstar Software Database Monitoring Service, otherwise known as GSDMS. GSDMS offers periodic monitoring (weekly, daily or hourly) of your database server and related environment.
With our software installed on your system, we will proactively obtain snapshots of the system configuration and statistics, and we will analyze those statistics looking for any signs of trouble.
Worried about running out of disk space? We can monitor multiple volumes for both "Important" and a "Critical" disk space levels. Worried about corrupted files? Our bundled KeyCheck tool can provide periodic monitoring of critical files and will immediately flag a critical error if the files report any database damage. Worried about transaction logs? Our tool monitors the transaction log directory for any anomalies -- and it can even clean up old and outdated files for you automatically! Don't have time to monitor the Pervasive Event Log? No worries -- we will check the log each cycle and report on any error messages found within. We even have ways of automatically addressing the problems they are reporting, and can provide YOU with proactive monitoring (via Email) of your own database environments -- freeing you from the drudgery of checking the logs manually every day. In fact, the GSDMS service actually updates itself and sends its own test messages -- so you don't even need to worry about making sure it is working!
GSDMS can be used to monitor PSQLV8 and above database engines (though some changes to newer versions can make the automated log cleanup more difficult), and requires a minimal amount of disk space and CPU horsepower to run. It can even be offloaded onto a workstation, with the right setup options. If you opt for our Auditing add-on, you will also have full audit capabilities for your data!
With our flexible monitoring options, we can provide you with the right level of service to meet your needs. The following options are currently available:
1) Daily Monitoring: For only $100 per month, or $1000/year if prepaid, you can get monitoring of your system logs and environment once per day, including Emailed recommendations on improving your environment and addressing problems found within the logs.
2) Hourly Monitoring: For $400 per month (or $4000 if paid a year in advance), step up to our hourly monitoring service, which checks over your system and event log every hour throughout the day, providing a report on the current status each time. In addition to Emailed suggestions for improvement, this service also includes up to an hour of phone support time each month so that critical issues can be resolved fast.
3) AuditMaster Monitoring: This offering is still in development and not yet available, but it will include an installation of Pervasive's AuditMaster database auditing package for even more thorough reporting of undesirable status codes and other problems. The price for this option is not yet determined, but it will include the purchase of AuditMaster up front. If you are interested in this option, please contact us.
4) No Monitoring: Do you already have a crack I.T. staff on hand to handle all of your Pervasive issues? Leverage the power of the GSDMS monitoring software and send alerts to your internal staff only by purchasing our software at a fixed cost of $995, which includes one year of GSDMS software support. Purchase a one-year support contract (a minimum of 6 hours) at the same time and receive a 25% discount on the support time!
